Stitches all round!

Today was a funny old day, I got lots of sewing done in the morning as I've got two fayres at the weekend. The first one's on Saturday at Burford in the Cotswolds. The second one is at my local Pre-school ( the one where I used to work). Then, I am also at Burford on Monday, busy busy busy! So as I said I got lots of stitchin done in the morning,Lots of little penny purses etc. Then I had to take my 12 year old to hospital at lunchtime to have his stitches out. He had a nasty accident on his bike 2 weeks ago and gashed his shin open to the bone! He had to have an operation by a plastic surgeon (lovely Stitching, very neat LOL!) Anyway here we are 2 weeks later and it's healing nicely. He'll have an impressive scar though, my poor baby! When we got back the sun was shining HOORAY! I sat out in the garden stuffin cats (toy ones of course!) These are destined for operation Christmas Child I'll tell you about that in another post)Oh, I also fitted in a trip to Poundstretchers and found these lovely mugs 4 for £3 and some wooden canisters reduced from £3 to £1.50.They had stickers on the front for tea and coffee so I peeled those off and I'm going to decorate them and use them for storage in my craft room!

No bootin today

OK I admit it,I've recently caught the car bootin bug.I've dabbled over the years but I'm not addicted, no no not me.I went last week and got a box of 36 spools of Sylko thread for £1,a box of buttons for a £1, a Staffordshire roses trinket box for 50p.I was so pleased! So today I thought I'd do it again.I got up early, peered out the window, yeah great, its not raining, had a shower etc.Just about to leave the house and it's started to pour with rain, TYPICAL.I AM GUTTED I'll get over it,think positive,I can do some crafting instead! Here are some pictures of Girly bags I've made but why do they keep appearing above the text, can anyone tell me?

Does size Matter?

Thank you for your lovely welcoming comments, Julia at Vintage Heaven. and Sophie Honeysuckle.I got so excited when I saw them! My garden isn't very big at all but I just tucked the summerhouse into a corner .It's like when you buy a new sofa and at first it looks to big for the room. It's still not quite finished yet,I'm going to paint the floor cream and cover the ceiling with muslin and fairy lights.Oh....just remembered, no electricity yet, something else to write on the to do list!Anyway It's not very big in fact it's only 7 x 5 ft but I don't mind that because it's my special space.I sit in there and think and drink tea and plan future craft projects.I'm also going to make some little curtains for the window and doors, haven't found the right fabric yet though. Here are some photos of the outside.

My Beautiful Summerhouse

Last July I left my job in a local Pre-school to set up my own business and craft full time.I decided to buy a small summerhouse with my final months salary and found one on the Internet at a bargain price!Unfortunately my husband wasn't so keen on the idea"Why do you need a summerhouse?"Well,Of course I don't NEED one but I really would like one!"Anyway I ordered it and it arrived.Next problem,1 summerhouse in pieces + Hubby in Mexico (working) for 3 weeks = No summerhouse for rest of summer(probably)Luckily for me I have a very talented sister that offered to come and help me HURRAY!! She is a little treasure, she came to stay for two days with her three children.I cleared the ground and she laid 28 slabs and I laid 2,I wasn't being lazy, I'm just not very good at laying slabs. Then we started to erect the thing which was a bit scary but we kept checking the instructions and it all went well .By the end of the first evening we had a floor and four walls, we put the garden bench inside just to test it and sat under the stars drinking tea and giggling our heads off as siblings do when they're together! We were not looking forward to putting the roof on the next day, but luckily my brother in law came to visit and as he built his own house extension, a little summerhouse was no problem!" We only popped in for a cuppa"he said.I bribed him with fish and chips, works every time! I am now the proud owner of a beautiful summerhouse thanks to my wonderful family!

Starting my blog

After looking at other peoples Blogs for quite a while I thought I'd take the plunge and join you lovely craft Bloggers! It's addictive reading them, my favourites list is getting longer and longer!Soooo.......what can I say I'm in my thirties ,well for 2 months more anyway. I'm happily married with two lovely children and I love sewing, knitting, making jewellery and greeting cards.I also enjoy cooking(although my family say that's only when OTHER people come to visit.I often hear the words"How come we're having this? We don't usually!"Don't they love to tease!Anyway, for my next trick I will attempt to post some pictures of things I've made recently
